On the Monday following the Thanksgiving break ALL 8th Grade through 11th Grade members of the football program were asked to report to the weight room for off-season workouts to begin the preparation for a Championship season.

At this point we are a week into off-season workouts and it was thrilling to see participation kickoff early in the week.  It is essential that our players put in the work that it takes to establish the winning program that we can have here at Holy Spirit Prep.

We had some OUTSTANDING attendance this week from a number of underclassmen!  What are you doing NOW to support this team's success in the Fall?  DON'T BE LEFT BEHIND!

"Winners FIND A WAY rather than make excuses for not performing or under-performing."

What are YOU going to do now?!!

What are you going to do now?

In spite of starting with so few players, then missing players due to family vacations or school retreats for a week at a time, then inconsistent commitment to attending all practices and games with countless reasons/excuses, our Cougar Football team put together a GFC West Division run that resulted in a playoff appearance.

What are you going to do now?!

Championship Teams, Doctors, Lawyers, Artists, Military Leaders Engineers, Scientists, or any other profession are not built when their season starts.  They all put in years of work and study to reach high levels of achievement.  For the same reason that cramming for tests does not work for learning and retaining knowledge and skills, rolling into football camp at the start of regular season practices does not work for becoming better football players individually or a better team collectively.

Winners are not lucky, their preparation meets up with opportunities to perform. With their preparation winners are able to take advantage of opportunities that are presented.  As a TEAM we are taking the steps to lay a foundation for a Championship built from commitment, hard work, and the desire of each player to reach their full potential.

Champions TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS and do not put their parents in a position to have to limit activities or remove privileges because they are not meeting expectations at home or in the classroom.

Winners FIND A WAY rather than make excuses for not performing or under-performing.

What are you going to do now?!!

On Monday following the Thanksgiving break ALL 8th Grade through 11th Grade members of the football program need to report to the weight room for off-season workouts to begin the preparation.

We will be in the weight room building the strong bodies and determined minds that will help us return to CHAMPION status in the Glory For Christ League.  Our workouts will continue on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (3:45 - 5:15) throughout the entire off season and players are responsible for checking in with a Cougar Football Coach and one of the upperclassmen below when they expect to miss a day in order to make arrangements to make up missed days of weight lifting and training.

Participating in other sports is not an excuse to miss out on lifting and training activities.  When other sport practice times conflict, players are expected to make arrangements to get the work done in the weight room at alternate times.

Players who may be struggling with scholastic success are not exempt from weight room activities and need to see a Cougar Football Coach to come up with a plan for achieving academic AND athletic success.  STEP UP before your parents have to.
