2013 Dates to Remember:

Spring Football Practice – In Review
April 29th through May 3rd

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 3:45 – 6:15

Parents,

Thank you for making it possible for us to conduct a fun and productive Spring practice last week!

With just a few hours each day we were able to develop some practice routines; teach some basic football skills; welcome new and returning players to the program; guzzle down some tasty Muscle Milk Protein drinks; and crown the 1st ever CougarBall Spring Football Champion!

Parents and all in attendance for practice were able to get a glimpse into the HSP Cougars Football program.  While our schedules will remain very similar for Fall Football practice, the rise in Summer temperatures, the intensity of our effort on the field; involvement of our coaching staff; and sense of urgency and level of commitment will rise significantly.

Our staff is looking forward to a productive and fun Summer and Fall of FOOTBALL, and we are so happy to have you along for the ride!

Thank you for your commitment to Holy Spirit Preparatory School Football!

Sincerely,

Andre Taylor
Holy Spirit Preparatory School - Head Football Coach

A note from Coach Taylor:

Young MEN are ACCOUNTABLE; to each other, to parents, to friends, to teachers, to themselves (wants, needs, and desires).  Be ACCOUNTABLE for YOUR behavior.  No excuses for why you CANNOT do something.  Plan ahead, commit to your plan, and MAKE A WAY!

We are deep into the Off-Season and a number of HSP Cougar Football players are taking on the challenge of "Building A Champion."

By "paying the price" these young men are showing a level of dedication and devotion to our team that cannot be coached.

Our coaching staff stands proud of the commitment to the TEAM made by these players who are "finding a way" in spite of full academic, athletic, and social schedules.

C-PRIDE!

Our coaching staff continues to be pleased with the effort of the student athletes who are MAKING a way to get the NECESSARY Off-Season work done in the weight room.

Enjoy this inside look at the HSP Cougars as we build strong minds and bodies.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW?!

Dates are being set for Spring Practice a Summer Mini-Camp and for the start of Summer/Fall Practices. With enough participation we may add a Spring passing league with opportunities to stretch our abilities while challenging local schools.

Be on the look out for calendar details following the Glory For Christ League Planning meeting on January 19th.

Players and parents please plan ahead so that Cougar Football players are not absent from these instrumental off-season and preseason events.  Calendar details coming SOON!

Our off-season is off to a great start!

We had a pretty good crowd in the weigh room today building strong bodies and even stronger minds.  The weight room will be open Wednesday and Thursday.

Players interested in working out in the weight room over the Christmas Break need to contact Coach Taylor.

On December 14th, Holy Spirit Prep's Sam Grisham attended the first day of 3 sessions as a part of the 1st Annual Muscle Milk Catalyst event at Competitive Edge Sports.  This combine style event provided about 40 athletes from around the state the opportunity to show off their skills, but more importantly the athletes were taught how to train by some of the best trainers in the country.  The CES trainers work with with collegiate and professional athletes at their state of the art facility in Duluth, GA.  Muscle Milk Catalyst concluded with training activities on Sunday, December 16th.  Sam was admittedly sore after the first couple of days, and will certainly have some good drills, and lifting activities or techniques to share with coaches and teammates.

Check out Sam and Other Muscle Milk Catalyst attendees at this link

Wednesday, Friday and Lunch times are perfect opportunities to make up time or days missed from Off-Season Weight-lifting workouts.

Be sure to stay safe by bringing another football player or student into the weight room with you to spot you while lifting.
